This was one of the biggests events of the Gay Games with 1347 participants.

The World Record on Men 45-49 for 100m backstroke was broken: 1:03.56, as well has European records in Men 50-54: 100m backstroke 1:08.79, 200m backstroke 2:32.65 and 200m Individual Medley 2:27.73. Several national records of Australia, Canada, UK and USA where also broken.

Pink Flamingo

The Pink Flamingo is one-of-a-kind extravanganza display where each team has 4 minutes to show what it is made of. The team for Gay Games 2002 was "South Pacific", and the teams used a lot of Australian refereces, as well as inflatable acessories (tulips, parm trees, lady dools...)
