About 300 persons marched in the first LGBT Pride March of Porto on the afternoon of 8 July. The march started at "Campo 24 de Agosto" near the spot where Gisberta was found deceased after being brutally beaten for two days in a row and dropped to die in a pit by a group of teenagers in February. The march followed the narrow streets of the city till Rua de Sá da Bandeira and ended in Praça D. João I, just 5 minute walk from the City Hall. On the same day the 6th edition of Porto Pride (organized by PortugalGay.PT and Boys'R'Us Bar) took place at Teatro Sá da Bandeira right on the city centre, near the spot where the parade ended.
Around 2500 persons participated in the event that ended at 8:00 AM and gathered a donation of 4345 euros that will be delivered to Liga dos Amigos do Hospital Joaquim Urbano (a local heath care instutition that takes care of HIV/AIDS and other transmited diseases).
