Melissa Etheridge

Melissa nasceu em 1961 em Leavenworth, Kansas, EUA. Após estudar no Berklee Coleege of Music editou o seu primeiro album, "" em 1988. As suas músicas simples com um som melancólico (que lembram Rod Stuart e Janis Joplin) capturaram o seu público próprio e o albúm chegou ao Top 30 dos EUA. Os albuns seguintes, "Brave and Crazy" (1989) e "Never Enough" (1992), foram grandes sucessos mas não teve nenhum single importante. No entanto em 1992 apareceu junto com kd lang num evento gay. Este "comming out" não prejudicou a sua carreira antes pelo contrário. Etheridge teve um MTV Unplugged em 1995 com companhia de Bruce Springsteen. Embora os seus albuns sejam um sucesso nos EUA, os britânicos parecem não acompanhar a onda....
