Product description
Amazon.co.uk
Yes, it's another group of five young white boys making dance-influenced pop that makes the girls scream. Not only is the makeup of this group familiar, their sound is almost a clone of fellow teenybopper dreams the Backstreet Boys. It's probably not surprising, considering that they share the same manager (who had all five members of 1980s preteen scream machine New Kids on the Block as the best men at his wedding, natch). The resemblance is a little too close for comfort, however, with almost every track here mirroring one on the Backstreet Boys album. From the radio hit "I Want You Back" and the sugary harmonizing on ballads like "God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You" to the one step forward, two steps back approach to sex appeal on "Giddy Up", 'N Sync--or their producers--have crafted the perfect balance of catchy pop ditties and swoon-inducing slow jams. --Rebecca Wallwork

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 November 1999If you are an 'N'sync fan, then you will love this album. The songe range from slow ballads to fast, pop songs, typical of the boys. You will recognise a few of the songs but most will be new. A great present for any teenage fan!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 May 2004This is the debut album from NSYNC, and--big shocker--I happen to like it. There, I said it. There's no turning back. I made my confession, and if you have a problem with it, then please proceed to purchase the latest James Taylor CD. For the rest of us, it must be said that this album isn't going to win points for originality, but who cares? This album does well at what it aims to do: please the listener with catchy, nicely-crafted pop tunes with the cheese kept to a careful minimum. There's the bouncy, Max Martin penned numbers "Tearin' Up My Heart" and "I Want You Back," the ballad "God Must Have Spent a Little Time on You," the Eurodisco of "I Need Love," and the Full Force-produced "I Just Wanna Be With You." Truthfully, there are worse things on earth than NSYNC, who are better and more interesting than the ho-hum Backstreet Boys and second tier boybands O-Town and Dream Street. Everybody has a guilty pleasure, and when it comes to music, you may as well make NSYNC yours.
